Subject: Oxygen - low blow

Steve,

How much is Scubapro paying you to help them substantiate the need for
dedicated nitrox valves and regulators ?

Perhaps the following will cover your request for documentation of the
problem and the hazard. There is lots more but this pretty much covers all
the bases in principle, I think.

-------------------------------------------------------
In a recent article in The Miami Herald, ValuJet states that "no decision or
action by the airline or its employees can be linked to the accident".

NTSB documents, which are presented on this web site, prove that this is a
misrepresentation of fact. On 3/11/96, ValuJet sent an engineering order to
SabreTech which instructed them to remove the expired oxygen generators from
aircraft that were being refurbished for ValuJet and, furthermore, that these
useless oxygen generators were to be "returned to stores". (See The "Return
to Stores" Engineering Order, Page 3, Item 12.1.3)

This order was contrary to established procedures which require that expired
oxygen generators should be properly disposed of as Hazardous Waste in
compliance with Federal law.

Additionally, ValuJet failed to order safety caps which were required to
prevent the oxygen generators from discharging. (See Page 4, Item 13.3)

This document proves that ValuJet is primarily responsible for causing the
oxygen generators to be placed aboard Flight 592. If this engineering order
had instructed SabreTech to dispose of the oxygen generators properly as
required by law, the 110 passengers and crew of Flight 592 would be alive
today. Instead, ValuJet ordered the oxygen generators returned to Atlanta.
------------------------------------------

Can you tell me how you are different from these guys at Value Jet who
also thought the procedures were BS - other than the fact that you are openly
encouraging others to do the same thing as you ?

Chuck
