Some friends of mine (from Stavanger, Norway) had a 1 week trip to Lofoten, May '97. They stayed in Kabelvag at a small diving resort called "Lofotdykk". They all had big happy smiles on their faces when they returned, and had great stories about exiting wrecks, magnificent nature, enormous Monk fish and Wolf fish, and Orcas. Lofotdykk is owned, and run, by Magne Goffeng. He use a 20' Zodiac for short trips, and local fishing vessels (40'-60') for longer trips. The prices at Lofotdykk were said to be moderate (good value). Albeit Norway is presumed to be a relatively expensive country, especially for food, tobacco, alcohol and petrol, diving is suprisingly cheap here and you won't have to que up to get into the water. Magne Goffeng may be contacted at: Phone / Fax : (+47) 76 07 82 71 I hope this may be to some help... -bjorn- ---------- From: MichaelDoelle@co*.co* To: techdiver@aquanaut.com Subject: Lofoten/Narvik Date: 03. August 1997 13:43 Hi, since there are lots of Scandinavians on this list, I'm sure that someone can give me a few tips about wreckdiving in Narvik and meeting the Orcas in the Lofoten. I'm planning a trip up there in October 98, as that is supposed to be the month that the Orcas arrive there. Sorry if this hasn't much to do with tech diving. Heck, diving above the Arctic Circle should be technical enough, anyway. michael, munich -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
