Is this true? I suppose if the algorithm is liberal this might not >be too much of a handicap, but my Aladin Pro has wanted me to do stops below >40 so if it is as conservative as the Aladin this limit might be a problem. The 40ft ceiling limit is there. If you exceed that, it will enter "guage" mode, where it just displays tank pressure and depth. I figure, deco below 40ft (for me) would probably involve non-air and/or non-nitrox bottom mixes anyway, and so, all I'd really need from it would be the guage mode anyway. So, by my way of thinking, it would be no great loss. I have used (and still do) the Alladin Pro. As I just bought it, I've been wearing (or taking) both, and comparing results during dives. I do it because I've been using the Alladin Pro for years, without serious problem, and have a feeling for how to use it with my particular style in the water. When I've compared the two units, the Nemesis (with my settings) will consistently call out for ceilings below what the Alladin does. And for longer ascent times. I lean toward a simple bottom timer device for mix dives, with a backup of similar type, as air computers are pretty much useless. The Alladin Pro makes a pretty decent bottom timer, as it is one of the few that can withstand seriously deep dives. I also like the Nemesis because it has a multiple-bar ascent rate indicator on the face, showing ascent rate in increments. This way, if I plan for an ascent rate of 30fsw/min I can use the graphic to help maintain that rate. Makes for less math under water, something I like to avoid if I can. Not sure if I will every loose the Alladin Pro, I like the idea of at least having it along in a pouch. With the Nemesis, having the brains in the tank-unit, one can even wear it to record dive statistics without necessarily using the wrist unit. I have never seen information like what I get out of that thing before. And, nicely enough, I finally have the kind of detailed log information that is interesting to me. ------------------------------------------------------- scot@bt*.co* Scot Anderson pp000082@in*.co* Voice: 703/761/6536 CIS:74147.2357 Fax: 703/556/9290
