Helen My buddy has had several problems with an early (ish) torch. The battery failed and had to be replaced, the torch head came off just after purchase (he suspected that it had been tampered with in the shop), a reed switch failed - I think this was a consequence of a previous failure. I know three other divers than have had no problems at all. All in all, despite these problems, he is happy with his torch and moreover, the level of customer service provided by Custom Divers was very high. He has had no problems with his torch for a year now. The reels looked to be driven by marketing requirements (functionality) rather than a KISS approach to design.
