You program in the PPO2 of the stage before your dive. > Yeah, but the only computer I know of that handles multiple mixes is the Cochran/Beuchat, and it has lots of quality problems - I know this first hand, I bought one. It's really too bad, because technically, the Cochran is by far the most technical on the market, although I hear there are others coming. As for multiple computers, forget it - on a technical dive with anything but one O2/N2 bottom mix and an additional O2/N2 deco mix (deep air or deco Nitrox), they'll all lock up and be useless. It used to be that some computers would act like bottom timers when you blew their profile, but it seems that all the recent models will just kick up their heels and lock you out for 24 hours (probably for legal reasons). I'm in the process of building a full He/N2/O2 dive computer that will operate reliably to 700' and handle just about any combination of O2/N2/He mix you can throw at it, for travel, bottom, and deco mix. Unfortunately, I don't plan on selling it - it's strictly for personal use - the legal implications are too intense to overcome, and quite frankly, the market for this type of thing is way too small to make a good business. Plus, it won't fit on your wrist - it'll be in a cannister at the hip. -Will -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
