I was just thinking about the PFO problem and Roger Carlson's comment about pressure variation within the system. For most people I think that the pressure variation should either be or be very close to the difference between the cystolic and diastolic blood pressures. If that were true then wouldn't people with low(er) blood pressure be more at risk of bubbles and AGE than people with high(er) blood pressure, since the latter have a higher overpressure at the lungs that would keep the bubbles smaller under the same external pressure. Also, would people with a lower differential between the cystolic and diastolic pressures, be less at risk of forming bubbles? Or have I missed the boat? Peter David david@la*.st*.ed*
