Jim, etc., Saw your post in the wreckers archive re: Sea Elite 60lb wings. You mentioned destrokifying them by replacing the hose-pull dump. So, who makes the proper replacement part? Does it require replacing the whole bladder, or just the flange portion containing the dump valve? Are those things all threaded the same among the different brands? I read a recent post on another list where a guy had a BC failure cuz someone had replaced the dump valve with one that had a different thread pitch, and galled the threads on the deal - with that plastic, that doesn't seem a difficult thing to do. Also - did you do the tire tube reinforcement deal to yours? If so, wasn't it a bitch? I did that with my AUL (Seatech?) wing and it was a tight fit getting the bladder and tube to realign. The Sea Elite wing is considerable less wide, and as you say, is a great fit for a singles rig. I'd like a suggestion on reinforcing it though - cuz the exterior looks far less durable than the AUL's. Sea Elite has "reinforced" the bladder with a light nylon shell liner that goes between the bladderr and the wing jacket. I'd prefer something a bit tougher. (looks like windbreaker material, or the cloth they make stuff sacks out of for camping gear) FYI (anyone that cares to know) in descending order of sturdily constructed wing jackets, seems to me they go: AUL (Seatech), Dive Rite, Sea Elite. Don't know about OMS, but they seem to be out of favor anyway.... TIA, Drew _____________________________________________________________________ Sent by RocketMail.
