George: I for one don't see a problem with you as an instructor weather you are self appointed or blessed by some agency or another. It is obvious from your posts on several lists that you do know what you are talking about and are knowledgable in what you do. It seems to me that any instruction you would consider becoming involved in would be in the area of deep, long, and dark cave diving/exploration as it relates to technical equipment and safety. I do not see you teaching basic SCUBA or "TECHNICAL" diving courses. In that light I would suspect that anyone who came to you to learn would probably: 1- already have his head out of his ass. 2- already be motivated to do things right. 3-already possess skills in excesss of basic scuba certification. I could go on but you get what I mean. Teaching people to dive deep on air is teaching people how to have an accident. Narcosis affects different people different ways, and the same people differently on different days. How do you train your way through these circumstances? Isn't that the point you have made in the past?. As the director of WKPP you already are an instructor, at least you better be. Weather anyone recognizes this or not, that is their problem, not yours. Keep extending the line, and people will keep saying that they could do it better, screw them, if they could, they would. The only thing that stops others from going where and beyond where you've gone is fear and good sense. Best of luck, safe diving.
