Subject: Why is that!!
Why does some agencies not allow divers to mount both decobottles on the
left side during training, regardless if it=B4s a cave or openwaterdive? Is
that a fact or am i wrong.

Do they mean that it=B4s easier not taking wrong bottle if the highmix is on
right side and low on left side, than high mix high, on leftside, and low
mix low, also on left side.

Since almost every configuration style is accepted by the agencies, and
seams to be less in priorety in training, it makes me wonder why it=B4s not
accepted to were both deco bottles on the left side. Is that becouse
statistics in acidents, i cant remember having read anything about that. If
i remember right, was a diver using the both side decobottle configuration
style the last acident i heard of. I cant se one single reason why not
using oneside mounting configuration, only advantages...in both cave and
openwater enviroment.

Isn=B4t one of the biggest problem marking of deco bottles? What is the prim=
e
consern using a decobottle, MOD isn=B4t it. Why use nice stickers whith
confusing and unnessesery text. What the diver needs to know with out a
doubt is the maximum operational deapth of the gas and his budy needs to
easely be able to confirm that right bottle is used. Why not recomend doing
like the WKPP. Use MOD marking and colour coded bottles. White for oxygen,
yellow for nitrox, red for air and black for bottommix. Why use confusing
stickers. I once saw a diver with his backtanks marked with the stickers
"nitrox", "oxygene" and "trimix", i still havent solved the complexed
formula to calculate on what gas he was diving on, might be coused by to
many unknown factors:-). I think he know thou `couse he seamd pretty alive
and kicking last time our ways crossed...

The use of a diferent shaped regulator on the high mix is pretty accepted i
asume. Don=B4t know anybody who don=B4t agre on the advantages of being able=
 to
feel the right regulator in zero or low visability.

The use of "Pressuriced but off" on decotanks is in my book a rule. Don=B4t
wonna find that my stage or decobottle is emptied when i wonna suck its
lifestoring content into my system. Any other way isn=B4t acceptable, or?

In the end we still have to deal with the risk of human error, charlie
foxtrot. My opinion is that by using a well thought out configuration
style, like WKPP=B4s, the risk of human error will be redused but not
eliminated. Experiense, intensed training and the best configuration style
can together do the trick. Thats why i wonder why some training agencies
don=B4t allow or recomend the use of one side decobottle configuration durin=
g
training? Mearly poletics or a decision based on facts?

Take Care
