David, Guyton's book (I mentioned the title in a previous post, but do not have it handy) is the one that I recommend. Very good, not too "deep" (it is often the text used in nursing programs and for first year medical students), but may require a good medical dictionary to go with it. Try your local book store (Dalton's or Waldon's) for getting it ordered. Although many chapters can be read on their own, it is strongly advised to at least read thru the pulmonary and cirulatory sections as they form a strong basis for most diving related topics. John
