>Hi All, > I just need to vent. I just went to my local dive shop to pick up >my nitrox cylinders and was told that they cannot fill them since they >don't have nitrox (read ANDI) VIP stickers!! What a crock!@#$ I VIP my >own cylinders (PSI certified) and don't happen to have their !@$#% >stickers. Oh well, time to find a new dive shop I guess. > No - time to buy some stickers (or print up your own). This is a common problem for all of us who do our own cleaning and/or inspections and don't have fill capabilities. I bought some of those great TDI O2 clean stickers, which are neat because they look real official, but just say that the cylinder/valve has been cleaned to TDI standards, and don't say by who or where, so one can use them with a clear conscience. You can also print up your own, using a laser printer or copy machine. Use the sticky Avery-type labels and cover them with clear packing tape, and they'll last at least a few months, or buy the "Bandura" vinyl laser labels which come out everybit as good as commercial labels, limited only by your skills as a designer. It's amusing that you have PSI certification, and still have this problem, since the majority of dive shop personnel doing visuals don't, and many I have spoken to seem to be doing it on the basis of a five minute quick course from the shop owner. -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
