Chris, this is fine, but where do these people get this bull from? Help us out here. In your case, it is true that I will not pay you like Jim King did or will, but then let's look at the facts - I run a tight ship, and a 501 C 3, not one where if you did dive with me, you would have to be surrounded by helpless strokes who have no clue and would not help you, or one that there are paid players on . You have to stop the bullshit. The WKPP has done all of the serious diving in the WKP, we have developed all of the equipment and techniques that can be used by anyone, and we are the first to use rebreathers here for this kind of diving - we are where the action is, yet privately you tell people that I do not know what I am doing, that a bunch of guys who got lucky once out of 129 rolls of the dice and still weenied at our stage drop have all of the answers. Who connected all of this stuff? Who holds all the records? Chris, your heros don't even dive anymore, and they will be the first to tell you we are way out of their league. Stop fighting us and start giving us some credit. I am tired of hearing what everyone else is GOING to do WHEN WE ARE DOING IT. If Steve Irving and so many others in WKPP are your good friends, then lay off. Chris, there was nobody but WKPP on the scene, when Indian collapsed, and we all collaborated to deal with this. You guys think you are pissing me off, and that is somehow good, but you have no idea who you are really pissing off, and how that will bite you , and the rest of those who are out there with the misinformtion, in the ass. Nobody liked it when I took over, including the guys who passed me the reins, but look at us now - I was right in laying down the law, and now I am the least of the staunch supporters of this philosophy of diving. Try telling Rick, Brent , or JJ about some bs idea, or ask Steve Irving how he deals with gear deviants or personal preference - he won't is the answer. Let's look at the arguement between me and the "community" , which you have taken upon yourself to defend: it boils down to one concept , "Doing It Right". I am intollerant and unbending, and have no interst in anything anyone thinks who has not been "downtown", and that is how I stop bullshit before it starts. Give me some credit and start helping us instead of fighting us. We do not smoke anyone's cave, we do not hog the exploration: we do what is left when everyone else hands it to us. The usdct said it could not go any further, or maybe 1000 more feet if they had rebreathers - we added 20,000 ( tewenty thousand feet of line) on scuba, and another couple on rebreather in less than twenty dives. That is right, we do not have the unlimited access that the great Bill Stone has - we barely have enough to do anything, but then we can go 11,000 in one day. John Zumrick said he was too old and fat to do Sullivan , Big D, or Cheryl, so we connceted all of that stuff and are still exploring two miles out. Exley said he went the wrong way in Chips and it was shutting down, and that turned out to be right before the Tallahassee Power Cave started, yeilding the World's Record distance from air at 14,000 feet. Exley said the Leon Sinks did not go at Innisfree ( which Jim King said he was better quaified to do (( I just spit my Diet Pepsi all over my computer))), right before WKPP pushed it down to Darkwater and Turner, which Exley said did not go. He gave us the map and said, "give it a try". We are training people and doing dives , and we do not have time to do what can be done by others. We are focusing on what only we can do, and we say that because only we have done it. Give me a break. Sure there are other ways of doing things, but we have the best way, and we have proved it. You need to be selling our gear vid to all of the people out here who are starved for real information, not more of the same old bullshit. - G Brown, Christopher wrote: > > george -- you're going etc -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
