Phil, we have been trying one new trick, a second new modification,
and have perfected a few older ones from Dr Hamilton. This speeds the
deco and completely eliminated the dcs-related symptoms. We think we
have it now, but will need a few more successful results to talk about
it.

Believe me, I am going to discuss this in detail when I am
absolutely certain, but I can tell you right now that my original
assumptions are proving more correct than ever, and my original rules of
this kind of diving will prove a whole lot of people completely wrong
and completely off base in the traditional thinking on deep sport
diving.

I have to be honest with you : I was apprehensive about this dive
for several reasons , including scrubber duration at that depth ( turned
out to be no problem ), the decompression algorithm using a rebreather (
turned out to be no problem ), scooter burn time ( again , not a
problem), long oxygen exposure ( not a problem the way we did it, but I
did carry two full face masks with me up from 240 feet), and DCS ( no
problem). I was not concerned for me, since I made my miNd up to take
these risks before I scheduled the dive, but I did not want to see one
of my pals end up paralized or dead. These two are as tough as it gets,
but as it turned out, the plan and deco were on the money, and we
learned a ton on this dive, and now will be able to stamp out some
serious cave exploration in a safe and efficient manner.

Thanks for your comments. - g
