I once tried the experiment and switched from EAN32 to air at 130 just to se= e if there was a change in perceived narcosis level; there was none. On the other hand, I don't usually notice narcosis at this depth. Note that O2 is = usually thought to be narcotic, and EAN32 and air should be roughly equivale= nt in narcotic properties. When switching from trimix to air at 190', there is= a pronounced spike of narcosis, although if you are decompressing quietly and = not task loaded or exercising, the sensation of narcosis (although not the actual impairment) goes away quickly.
