Everyone who's asked when the Crystal Beach Cave Video would be released now have an answer -- it's here -- and it's excellent! The final scenes, shot in the 2300ft. area called the Dragon's Lair, are some of the most beautiful I've ever seen, showing an extraordinary discovery: a saltwater/freshwater interface with a thin layer of bacteria spread like a soft cloud exactly at the interface zone. When the divers scooter from one layer to the other, the images created are truly amazing. Brent Hemphill developed many beautiful new sequences to add to the show, first presented at NACD last year, with Michael Glasenhardt putting the post-production standards for this kind of documentary up yet another notch. Considering the off-shore, saltwater, no-mount entry, the beauty of the cave, plus the halocline, mussels, hydroids, troglobytes, and the bacteria population, it's hard to find a more interesting and important discovery/exploration than this one by Mike and Sherry Garman and their team.
