Thanks to all who responded to my post on how to add strain relief to = the cord of an AUL cannister light. What I gathered=8B - Send it to Arnold, if he does a repair he will install strain = relief without asking (great guy). - Get a UK brand hose protector, cut it in half. Disassemble the = compression fitting on the cannister end and slide the tapered half = of the protector to the light head. Put the thick portion at the = cannister end, attach with a zip-tie. As an alternative to taking the = hose apart, spiral cut the protector and thread it onto the hose. - Purchase a plastic compression fitting which has an integral strain = relief and use this to replace the original brass fitting. = Mcmaster-Carr (908-329-3200). One fan of mine suggested that I shove the AUL light up my ass, then = my bone and muscle structure will then act as an organic strain = relief. To this person I say that while there might be some people on = this list who's sphincter muscles might be capable of achieving such = impressive dimensions, I (fortunately) am not one of them. Now if you = had suggested that I shove in my mouth..... Thanks again, guys- Jim -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
