On 4/2/97 10:18 AM, you said: >To bring it closer to target, I should mention that Chris Parrett is in >fine company with his somewhat premature announcement of a completed >software version. And it probably doesn't need stating that Chris doesn't have >the same sort of resources to throw at the problem that Bill Gates has. Actually, no one at Microsoft is writing decompression software for the Mac. Chris is ahead of no one, there is no competition, judging by what I've read here recently. He is not investing anything in a Mac version, the Mac market isn't worth his time. Instead, he is accepting Apple's charity, which puts him at their mercy, on their time schedule, and at their whim. Which is as it should be, given that it IS charity... He then uses the fact that Apple is in control as an excuse, and continues on his way. This all presupposes, of course, that you choose to believe what he says now, in spite of his past record at truth, or that you care about his problems. --------- "Huh?" --Jammer, 1992 --------- -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
