Rich,
As a rule, I don't get specific about events on open forums, when
I don't have first hand information.
The point I was trying to make is, IMO, the technology to make
deep/mix dives "safe" doesn't yet exist. Those of us that choose to
participate should be aware of the risks, and continue to do everything
possible to make them as safe as possible though training, conditioning,
equipment, etc.. But we should also realize that the majority of fatalities
are not directly equipment related and therefore do not necessarily have a
equipment solution.
