Joseph,

   I have been re-designing a wrist slate with a watch attached and a small
SOG retractable knife on the back plate.   I have been trying to decide
whether to put the knife loop over my wrist or stuff it along side the knife.
  I like having it close at hand but out of the way for the same reasons you
do and I think you have convinced me to put it over the wrist and tuck the
knife.
