It is very difficult to read unless you are looking directly into the gauge face, which in some cases can require you to roll the bottle about, and in the case of a poseidon reg with a forward or rear facing (on a stage orientation) HP port, even worse. The are marginally suitable for an O2 deco bottle, where you just have to know empty of full, which you should have checked on the surface anyway.
