A scrubber is used in saturation complexes and sometimes in treatment = chambers if using a long saturation treatment. In the first case the = chamber atmosphere is of course mix. In the second it can be if a = scrubber is fitted. =20 A scrubber does not "extend the O2 supply" . It keeps the CO2 level of = the chamber down so it does not have to be flushed with (expensive) = helium, conserving the dilutent gas supply. =20 Check with Amron in Escondido, http://www.diveweb.com/amron They are = the largest commercial diving equipment supplier in the US. They have a = very detailed catalog which will describe the unit. ---------- From: David Shimell (shimell)[SMTP:shimell@se*.co*] Sent: Monday, March 10, 1997 8:10 AM To: 'techdiver@aquanaut.com' Subject: O2 Therapy with Rebreather All Somewhere, I heard or read of an emergency oxygen therapy kit that =20 incorporated a scrubber to extend the life of the O2 supply. This may = have been incorporated as part of a portable re-compression chamber. =20 Does anyone have any further details (contact, experience of use, = etc.)?
