Just to get your witch hunt over with, I really am a Northeast wreck diver. Aside from what I read on the mailing lists (does anybody but WKPP post to cavers any more?), my private source of info on WKPP is Carl Heinzl. I have talked to Carl on occasion, including at a dive shop which is very near to where the original witch hunt took place. I'm sure he means no harm to WKPP, but all he can talk about back home is being a member of the team, how he is on your private "phreatic" list, etc. When he came back from Florida, he was so proud of all his certifications from JJ, and was trying to get the local divers to take him along on some of the more challenging dives. We've seen enough bigshot cave divers get in trouble on Northeast wrecks that we're not about to let someone whose only qualification is being newly cave, drysuit, and trimix certified out on a real dive. The reason I have posted this stuff (aside from the sheer joy of sarcasm) is that I'm sick of stroke poster children like Tennant filling techdiver and cavers with messages accusing others of being what they obviously are - superstrokes. If you choose not to believe me, I don't give a shit; accuse people on your own team. The ones you will alienate are the Gavins and Caseys of the world; you'll keep all the Tennants and Heinzls.
