Skin Diver Magazine, I suspect.

So...what are you saying?!?! .... That viewing the fishies isn't a
legitimate purpose for tek diving?!?!? ;-> (Obligatory response from a
tek-diving Ichthyologist).

My personal experience with the "little people" in the recreational
community (in Dan's defense, I got the impression that he, like me, was
being facetious) is that most people who find out of my deep diving
practices are much too curious to think about lambasting me. There are a
few who honestly believe I'm a menace to society sent by Satan to
encourage all rec. divers to exceed their limits until they die, but not
many (mostly either hyperbaric physician-types or people who hold little
pieces of plastic in their wallets in high regard, most of whom have ever
met me and none of whom have ever dived with me). The general reaction I
get is:

"Geez, you're CRAZY! So how do you do it? How deep do you go? YOUR NUTS!
Tell me more...."

(Incidently, there are very fine lines between "crazy", "brave" and
"stupid", but that's the topic of another thread...)

I haven't really met face-to-face with any animosity (although I
occassionally hear about it going on behind my back), so my general
feeling is that there isn't a lot of it out there.

Aloha,

Rich
