Hank, the idea of only going into a wreck as far as you think you can get back out from is easy to understand. It is also a very stupid idea that has killed many divers. Welzel actively promotes this dangerous bullshit. And you support him. Now that cind of stupidity is definitely beyond my understanding. Unless you and he share a macabre sense of humour. Tell me why you think its such a good idea to discourage the use of guidelines during penetration dives. Give me one rational reason. >but you happen to mention the body count on the Doria. > i am assuming that since you made that statement you >have some knowledge about them. perhaps you could share >it with us. >How many of the last 4 or five of these were cave >trained & how many were just plain old wreck divers?? You know, the exact body count on the Doria isn't easy to find - as you guys try to keep it quiet. And I'm not surprised. But as far as the last four (or five) being cave trained- that's irrelevant to my argument and to yours. If you really want to add to the debate tell us what percent of the Doria's Diving Dead were inside without guidelines. And don't forget, guidelines might have also helped some of the "Whacked Out Of My Brain On Deep Air But Shit, I Can Figure Out How To Get Out Of Here" crew. rgrds billyw -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
