Mike, you are appartently high strung or devoid of suitable adjectives. If you need to curse, why do so to the list? Don't you feel the participants are capable of making their own judgements? So I don't dive hogarthian? So I don't rule out independants as a safe and effective way to rig tanks? So what? Once again, do you drive the safest car? Or do you believe that your driving talent does not necessitate it? You have more chance of dieing in an automobile than underwater and yet you probably don't think twice about reducing your safety margins on the road. I don't NEED a hogarthian rig to be safe. Yes it has a lot of good points, but they are NOT necessary TO ME. I have over a thousand dives, more than half of those on wrecks in over a hundred feet of water. I have learned; from others and from experience; how I wish to configure my gear. I am always looking for new ideas but I am quite happy and comfortable with my present setup. Maybe I don't want to dive like you? Just because my viewpoint differs you have to curse, George has to call me a "Boat Monkey". I really don't pay people like you much attention, but you are fun to get all riled up! I dive for fun and pleasure, not to be the most CORRECT or the most ANAL. My configuration and technique work for me, and they work well. So what is YOUR problem? Mark BTW I speak for no one but myself, I have never stated otherwise and simpletons like yourself should stop trying to put words into other peoples mouths. ---------- From: Tennantm To: mark; techdiver Cc: anscott Subject: Re: My Goodness Date: Thursday, January 09, 1997 11:58PM Mark You are such a stupid fuck. You speak for all NE wreck divers? Don't, I can speak for myself. Yes, I live in the NE, and I happen to dive many wrecks in the NE in the upper St Lawrence. Most from 90 - 150, and my favorite is a 640' long freighter at 150 - 260. I use the SAME Hogarthian rig for these dives as I do in the caves. BTW, I do most of the wrecks solo. So there goes the indepedents safer for solo diver bullshit (I don't do independents). You just don't have a clue. Keep your rig clean and simple. The WKPP has an excellent example of this in the Hogarthian rig. I use it for every dive, wreck, cave it doesn't matter. The only changes I make is to take a lift bag on the wrecks and a snorkel in the caves (snorkel is for propulsion). That (lift bag) is the only thing you need to change on your rig. The point is that the Hogartian rig is simple, clean, safe, proven, effective, and works extremely well for any type of diving save side-mount/no-mount and muff diving.
