Awesome.  That's a great idea! 

One question though - doesn't the expired air from the buddy 
breathing off the snorkel cause one to be inflated and thuse quickly 
positively bouyant and thus this makes for two people rocketing for 
the surface?  Or do the people who do it this way wear butt-tons of 
weight to overcome this?

P.S.  I've seen a few dainty divers around who actually prefer the 
USDivers snorkel - something about the cone shaped part on top giving 
a more snug fit in the ass.
