After viewing a number of WKPP videos, it appears to me that there is some variability in the mounting method and location of the argon bottles. Some, like George, use a velcro strap system. It's not clear to me but with this system, is the argon bottle stuck on by the velcro (i.e., it's not actually trapped under a strap)? I would worry that if the bottle is held on only by the strength of the velcro that it might come loose in a high-current situation. However, other divers appear to use a pony bracket system, where the bottle is actually strapped onto the doubles (more secure, but more difficult to remove in an emergency). Some divers have the argon bottles mounted on the right side, and some of the bottles appear to be mounted valve up. Other than obvious considerations with inlet valves on the dry suit, why would one side be preferred? Anyone care to comment on this? eddie-brian@ui*.ed*
