I have a Viking Sport, 10 years old and a little over 1600 dives on it. In some areas the fabric is so thin you can shine a flashlight through it in a dark room. In these areas even Viking couldn't get patches to stick so I use aquaseal on the inside and it works great. I'll have a new suit come spring but this one is still good enough as a back up. A word of caution though. Using aquaseal on the outside will eventually peel off and it makes it almost impossible for the proper glue and fabric to stick later.
