Mike, I hestiate to recommend Mount without telling you to be sure he does not
try to get you butt mounting or some other silliness, but if you can get him to
agree up front to Hogarthian gear arrangements, I would go with Tom down here
in
South Fl. If you were cave diving, I would send you to JJ in Gainseville,
other
than that I do not know outside of the Great Lakes who to go to. I am unclear
on
who the New England guys are - maybe Raimo, but I am not even sure where he is,
probably South Bronx by his accent.

Florida is a great place to learn diving, but the wind can shut you out. I
would ask Tom to set up with the Organ Grinder Monkee (Deans, as he used to be
known), to also dive there. Billy has a great operation and has excellnt dives
that can be done on wind directions that blow out Ft Lauderdale. You could also
check with Mimms and Joe Lavotti, as they will be the guys who are running the
trips anyway, but I still think that Mount does the teaching out of Ocean
Diving
as well.

The other thing is that after you get all of the basics, you can always come
back for advanced courses or just dives where all of this will mean a lot more
than it does now. Start out with Tom, and then go from there - just don't dive
rebreather with him - you can talk in a Halcyon, so he will be yapping the
whole
time. - G
