And you are rationizing the NEED for a manifold. You also
advocate I get a $700 bouyancy device, and a $250 light
and god knows what else. For the types of diving I do
independants are fine. Since I am forced to use the system
constantly, I can deal with a situation quicker than Most
divers using a manifold. And you cannot tell me that a
manifold is safer because not everyone is going to get
one of your bullet-proof manifolds and even if they do
they have more points for failure. I think the tradeoffs
do not condemn independants. Maybe 10,000 feet into a
cave they have no place, but in 100 fsw on a wreck and
an experienced diver I don't see this death and doom
scenario painted on this list.
