In 1994 International Diving Consultants, Lafayette, LA had two deployed = for for work on Chevron's Deep Star installation at ~475 FSW in the Gulf = of Mexico. There was recurring problem (issue?) with a seal leaking so = Chevron had us do the job with a Triton ROV. The Newsuits were on site for four days and made two <30 minute dives. A Canadian operator, (Candive I think, but don't remember for certian) = used the Newsuit on the installation of a sewer outfall at Athens, = Greece, about a year earlier. ---------- From: David Strike[SMTP:strikinc@oz*.co*.au*] Sent: Tuesday, December 10, 1996 2:55 PM To: techdiver@terra.net Cc: A.APPLEYARD@fs*.mt*.um*.ac*.uk* Subject: Newtsuit > How much is the Newtsuit getting into common use?=20 There's a company in Western Australia that have been trialling them for flow line tie-ins for quite some while. The same company recently = deployed two of them - flown, I believe, by Canadian pilots - for work on the = trash bins of one of New South Wales' largest dams at a depth of 100 metres. = That was in October. >About how many have been made? Good question! It's prompted me to try and find out. > How much do they cost each? Ummhh! Another good question! But inexpensive compared with a = saturation diving system. ('though that doesn't mean that it's cheap!). I believe that Drager are handling the international marketing. I bet they give discount for bulk!!!
