Scubapro makes a regulator specifically for ice diving (and some other companies too). The standard models work fine as long as they're kept *dry* so they don't freeze between dives, but they are prone to trouble unless you take freezing conditions into consideration. If I were doing more than a little REALLY cold water diving, I'd get the polar-built model. Personally, I've never quite gotten the urge to slice holes in a frozen lake and jump in. We don't have many frozen lakes in LA. They've experienced everything from ice diving in February, to The Florida Keys in June. I've had two free flows: One on a new reg that had not been set properly, and one after taking the reg out of my mouth, intake up, at depth. I don't know about Dacor, but Scubapro definitely makes quality regs. Eric -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@terra.net'.
