Ikelite makes a good strobe that is used often up in the New York/New
Jersery area for the deeper dives, so it will probably holdup well.

Last time I bought one it cost somewhere around $50 to $70 (prices
may vary at your local dive shop).

Seems to be reasonally bright, and not huge in size, and is rate to 300ft.
As this is built and designed for diving, I like it better than the small
personal strobes available from ACR and some of the really small ones (Tekna
used to make a very small unit that used 1 AA battery).
