To All- At 12:30am on Wednesday, November 27, the diving community lost one of its' finest members. Dive boat captain Tony Townsend (TNT Dive Charters:Manta/Pelikan) was killed instantly in a collision while returning to the marina in Boynton Beach, FL, via the Intracoastal Waterway. He had been out on a late night fishing trip with a friend in his small fishing boat. According to the news and word of mouth reports that I have heard so far, Tony and his friend were hit nearly head-on by another boat which was, apparently, running fast with no lights. The other boat ran right over Tonys small runabout, decapitating him. His buddy was thrown (or,according to him, possibly pushed by Tony) clear of the wreck. IMHO, Tony was the *BEST* dive boat captain that I have ever sailed with, and I have sailed with quite a few in the last 24+ years. He was also a good friend and one of the nicest guys you could ever meet. My sympathies are with his wife, Terry, and their wonderful 4 year old daughter, Sunny. Ray
