This stuff will all be on the Doing it Right Web Page when it's finished, but what you need to know is fairly simple: Whether you are diving with twins or singles, a wings system is to your advantage (compared to a jacket-style BC), as it leaves the diver completely unencumbered. Assuming you are using a twin (doubles) config, use a wings system that provides enough buoyancy for any forseeable emergency situation, and no more, so that there is no unnecessary drag. Do not use cord or bungee bound wings (like OMS's current offerings). In the event of a catastrophic BC failure, the bondage will act to dump the wings, which you do not want in an emergency. Unbound wings also provide increased stability, as they wrap around the tanks. Use only single bladder wings if you are diving with a drysuit, as the suit will provide backup buoyancy in an emergency. If you are diving with a wetsuit, redundant buoyancy is necessary, and is provided by the ubiquitous lift bag. In keeping with the theme of simplicity, single bladder systems have only one inflator hose, and therefore less failure points and a cleaner overall rig. -Sean On Thu, 7 Nov 1996 11:23:18 -0800, Pierre Cote wrote: >Is there any information currently available on this, I am looking to upgrade my BC and could use some help. >PierreC > >-----Original Message----- >From: Sean T.
