I never wanted to indicate that scooters will always get you munched, or are the only thing that will get you munched, or even that they were the most important thing that will get you munched. Shark attacks on scuba divers are EXCEEDINGLY rare! All I wanted to suggest was that my Gut-feeling/SWAG generated from assorted experiences, knowledge of experiences of other people, knowledge of shark biology, and a bunch of other stuff led me to the conclusion that one should be cautious with certain kinds of DPV's in the presence of potentially dangerous sharks.
