Chris,

I don't get it. Why don't you simply treat the deep stops as waypoints?
Example:

30 min @ 130 ft on air

Deco without deep stops:

 4 min @ 30 ft
10 min @ 20 ft
35 min @ 10 ft

So you backtrack and insert the deep stops at 80 ft and 55 ft. So, for
all purposes, you consider the user's profile as

30 min @ 130 ft
 2 min @ 80 ft
 2 min @ 55 ft

...and recalculate the deco. What's the big deal? Just pretend the user
inserted the deep stops. I mean, Abyss *can* handle multi-level
diving, can't it? ;^)

So the new deco will be different. Why shouldn't it be?

Cheers,

Carlos
