it's easy enough to implement. It is based on real-life experience and it is
a mathematical expression. It's a ALREADY a model - you just gotta use it.
In my mind, the Pyle model is no more or less "valid" than anything that's
based on Haldane's "intuition".

No cynicism at all.
The issue is not whether or not we could force the program to insert the
user requested Deep Stops, but in how we make the rest of hte model handle
the extra events in the dive profile timeline.
Abyss is unique in that it runs all of the tissue calculations in real time.
Ever second of the dive a computation is made to determine a host of
variables and all of them are caccounted for in the model. If I begin
inserting points that are (artificial) to the model itself we can end up in
a bad situation in a real hurry. What we need is for the internal model and
the math we have created to call for the neccessity of these Deep Stops to
begin with. And that is jsut what we are doing by working on this new Bubble
model, and that was the real reason I asked whether people would be willing
to wait the time it might take to do it right on a desktop PC.

Sure, its real easy to cut a table and then go back and apply Rich's Deep
Stop rule and end up with something that works. But I am trying to avoid
that, and come up with a more elegant solution from the get go.
