Okay, don't make me pull this car over...

George is George. Stop the feuding. Its not going to change anything. Just
because you don't like what someone says or how they say it, doesn't mean you
have to head off in a tirade ad nauseum on the list. Take what you can from
the post and move on. It seems every three or four months we get a bunch of
people on here that think its their job to change George. To point out his
shortcomings in politeness. Its not worked before, its not going to work this
time. Accept George for who he is and what he does and get on with your
lives. The same goes for anyone else you happen to think is rude, crude, or
whatever. Take what you can from the post and move on. You don't need to make
these people your personal "projects".

If you don't like someone's tone in a post, send them a message privately
telling them so. I have done this a couple of times with someone on the list
and we discussed the situation. One time I was right, the other time they were
right. No hard feelings and a better understanding. I didn't inconsiderately
bother the rest of the list with my issues with a post. Believe me, you're not
impressing anybody with your flame wars. You just look like children. <whine>
"George was mean to me" <whine> "I am going to call him names back so
everyone
can see that I'm cool" <whine>. Puh-lease. George's comments aren't near as
annoying as the whining and bantering put up by detractors.

Maybe George doesn't bother me because I lived in Manhattan for so long. I
don't mind foul-mouthed know-it-alls as much as I mind whiners and people who
feel it is their responsibility to save us all from people like George. While
I don't like his tone or language, I can look past it and take something away
from what he posts. The rest of you are not adding *anything* to the list. If
you have a viewpoint about diving that you want to express, then by all means
do so. George may call you names, but you may learn something from what he
tells you while calling you names.

Ugh, I don't know why I am even writing this, its just going to add to the
clutter and the madness, but some of you really need to stop using techdiver
as a list for trying your lame flames and start contributing. There's just
been too much whining here lately.

If you must respond, do so privately please.

Jeff.
