I was given a scuba diving list from a friend in the US which covered Techdiver, Ecodiver, Shark-L, Scuba-l & Cavers. Being a Newbie I was eager to catch up on things worldwide but Ive noticed the sudden degenerate tone in many of the postings. Maybe it was there before I joined? Ive only been on a month ... but hell guys cool down & get back on track or otherwise you wont have anyone left on your list other than all those who want to disagree/swear/abuse all day year-in year-out - boring! Your list will get the 'thumbs-down' worldwide ... not a good way of promoting this business. As my US friend said in his email last night "It's amazing how juvenile some of the respondents can be on the techdiver list, isn't it? The same can be said for the caver diver's list. You would think those two lists would have the most intelligent divers, and consequently the most intelligent conversation. Not so. There is good info to be found, but often at times you must sort through the bursting egos to find it". So in just 4 weeks Ive figured out what posts are worthwhile reading & like the gentleman below, I delete others without even glancing at them because of their author, which is a shame because one day they might have something worthwhile to put up for discussion which isn't biased, slanderous, offensive, racist, vulgar .... & the list goes on.
