One of the reasons I was given is that there is no "give" in a metal to
metal connection, so if whilst moving along your stage bottle snags on
something the pull can give you some nasty bruising etc. See George's
diagram on Jeff Bentley's home page for details on rigging this
properly.

George what's your reasoning on this please.
