Post me your snail-mail address and I will send you a copy of 
a fairly good article from DCIEM on doppler monitoring (I took
a 4 day doppler course from DCIEM several years ago, and I really
do not believe that you can learn to evaluate doppler signals
by yourself - you really need to listen to hours of signals
and be guided into the correct scoring by an experienced 
instructor.
