I'm not sure what all this is in response to, but if it's in response to 
Chris Parrett's post anouncing that a new version of Abyss is available, 
then I disagree.  I have no problem with companies announcing the 
availability of a new product or a new version of a product - that's the 
sort of thing I *want* to see on this list.  Obnoxious, repeated 
advertisements of products we already know about is what we want to avoid.
