Trout sez:

For now - just wait until every third-rate instructor who is teaching
a Nitrox class starts advertising on here. If we tolerate Chris
Parrett's ads, then we have to tolerate everybody else's as well.
Tell me Trout - how many ads per day will we have to see before you
crack?

I thought that's what I was doing?

The way to "learn a thing or two" and "avoid buying junk" is not by
listening to salesmen. It is by listening to the recommendations of
people who actually use the stuff, and have nothing to gain
financially from the thing that they are recommending. There are
plenty of examples of people (you and me included) who listened to
salesmen, bought crap gear, and then had to get rid of it (or worse,
eat it) when they found out what they had done.

I don't subscribe to these lists to get sales pitches - not from
Chris Parrett, not from anybody. I subscribe to these lists to get
unbiased (to the greatest extent possible) information about the
types of diving that I like to do. If I want to read ads, then I will
buy "Skin Diver".
