Frederic,

Bonjour. Il est tres bon to have input here on cavers from cave divers de
France. Facinating report; merci bien. Has there been any scientific research
conducted in Fontaine de Vacluse?

I am not qualified to have an opinion on your decompression schedule. However,
based on what little I know, one thing troubles me. That is using pure oxygen
(O2) at 12 meters during decompression. In English feet (used only in the USA,
apparently), this is 39 feet on pure O2. With all due respect, this is too
deep for pure O2 and could lead to some incidence of oxygen toxicity and
convulsions. Others know much more about this than I, but perhaps a maximum
depth range of 4.5 to 6 meters ( 15 to 20 feet) is safer for use of pure O2
during decompression. Oxygen-enriched air (nitrox) may be more appropriate for
the 12 to 6 meter depth range.

If you can wade through the garbage and flames, you may pick up some usefull
suggestions for increased safety and efficiency from some of the USA cave
divers. Likewise, I hope they can learn something usefull from you and other
European cave divers.

I hear there is recently an email list for "dry" cavers in France (Speleos
Franciase). What can you tell us about this? Please answer in English and en
Francais and I will forward your answer in both languages to some pertinant USA
and international email lists. Merci bien (thank you very much).

Bon chance avec votre plongees (good luck with your dives).

Spanish is not much better.
