Trout, wasn't being a stroke a lot of fun? I see strokes ( you can spot them a mile away) still having fun out there. I am doing a gear rigging session at the NACD workshop, and I am bringing all of my stuff, and we are going to go over it in nitty gritty detail, and I challenge ANYONE out here to show up and argue the merritts of any of this with me, and I will pay $100 each to anyone right there on the spot who can even approximate a legitimate reason as to why I am wrong or why they are right. It can not be done. I will answer any questions and help anyone who wants the help. My bet is that there is not one person out there who is willing to stand up and argue one of these points with me with gear on display. This is depsite the fact that many of you are out there snivelling about what an asshole I am and how personal preference is the ticket, and how your way is better, safer or whatever. Bullshit - step up and pet the pony at the workshop, or quit trying to get people to do it wrong, and you all know who you are. Mount can come try his butt mounting drag argument and I will knock that silly as well , and show you some film , slides, and actual gear to support each point. The Dive Rite Light salesmen can have a shot, the double bc guys , the hose-stuffers, the sloppy gear configs, the independents, the you-name-it or dream-it-upppers, anyone. It is time for all of my detractors to show up and take their best shot at SHOWING and EXPLAINING gear to gear what the story is. Like I said, I will put my money where my mouth is, and will let YOU be the judge whether I am right or wrong. In other words, I have to convince YOU that I am right, and get YOU to admit it. I may have to beat some of you senseless first, but you will admit it, or I will pay up. One more thing - the "I don't do the dives you do so it makes no difference" argument is not a winner - I need a real winner out there, and my bet is that I do not need to bring any money other than to buy Roger Werner's line arrows to put on the line I am laying thanks to all of the cave left by the guys you are listening to, as there is a sushi bar in Gainesville, and I plan on winning mine live, although Vinny and Skinny will be there helping me and could pull one out, so I will bring my Visa.
