Anyway, this is not a case of "right" vs "wrong" deco but rather a continuous scale of increased *risk* of DCS. Different profiles will expose you to risks of 1%, 5%, 10% ... based on a general statistical group. Now the amount of risk you consider acceptable for yourself is of course your own business, according to your kind of diving and the support you can get. Manufacturers should print that risk level on the box, or at least in the documentation. The trade-off here is obvious: people want a "safe" device, but divecomps that are too conservative don't sell well. Word spreads that divecomp "XYZ" nails you forever at 3m, and that's it. May be an adjustable risk factor is what you are asking for ? "Well, I feel great today, let's try 15% ", "Uh ?
