This just blows my mind...I finally find some sort of forum to share viewpoints, and then it is expected that all info. is held from everyone. Mayne we shouldn't even tell our Open Water Students that Nitrox exists, because who wknows what they might try... Blah!! If we can't have a forum where advice can be saught, and ideas expressed, then maybe we'll have to make a new one.....like.... *** Techdiver II: The Forum for the self responsible diver *** I really hope that this forum doesn't go the way of "recreational" thinking, or I'm outta here. ***** Notice to all inexperienced divers, and recreational only divers *** Please reach out and turn the BRIGHTNESS control on your monitor all the way down every time you see a number higher than 150 on the screen....to do so will allow us to exchange information about various topics that we have determined are not suitable for you. <---- this, of course is a joke, so don't give me any s__t about it. Whether it be Solo, Deep, Mix, Nitrox, or whatever, I feel that even advice learned from this forum is better taken and thought about, and POSSIBLY used, rather than be unavailable. It is better to have SOME training than none at all. I KNOW that if people wouldn't have let me in on the secrets of DEEEEEP diving that I would have had to become a "self pioneer" like Sheck Exley, and learn the limits by doing....I'm just glad we can talk about this stuff so that we can learn from other's mistakes. And for the post about how outrageous 900fsw is...... If this seems stupid, please, write a letter to those guys who build skyscrapers and walk on the beams.... tell them they're dumb.... because that to me is nuts. (of course I don't think they're dumb) EVERYBODY should be allowed their purpose to pursue they're dreams....for some it's a mountain, for some it's a cave. 900fsw doesn't sound too bad when you're looking at a future where who knows what will become commonplace. EVERYBODY should also understand one thing...and I know I'll get agreement on this. WHEN YOU DIVE....YOU, and ONLY YOU, are responsible for your life. Screw what the lawyers tell you.....It's still your own damn fault for being there. If you can't read this forum and WITHHOLD from diving in ways you think are extreme, then get another sport and stay the hell away. I want to dive with people who think about what they do. Sorry, I just got a little riled up for a minute...I HATE Lawyers and Liability issues....everybody KNOWs why. Tim Olson "YOU ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ME .... NO MATTER WHAT"
