Mike - I've been diving a plain old Nemesis II for a little over a year. They work fine. I had an out-of-box problem that was fixed promptly, other than that I'm very pleased with the machine. I've done about 100 dives with it, 10 accelerated decompression dives. I've used in at altitude (6000 feet), in sea water, in cold water (47F), and in fresh water. Most of the dives I've made with it have been on 32 or 36 percent nitrox, but I've also used air with O2 decompression. My only complaint is that the wrist strap is too short. This is not a problem with the Beuchat wrist unit, but my original Buechat was 'liberated' after a dive in Monterey last year and I replaced it with a Cochran. Since then I've had to rely on the kindess of strangers to get the blasted thing on over my drysuit. This may have been fixed by now. If not, a Beuchat strap costs $18.00. I ordered one, but the disreputable retailer I dealt with never delivered it. Recently I've been contemplating a velcro solution. The backlight feature on the IIa is something I'd really like to have. It's a pain in the butt to find the right angle for your light when reading the display at night or in deep water. I always blind myself once or twice before getting it. This is no worse than the Sunto Solution my wife uses though. Regards, Scott. Oh yes, the other thing I don't like is the size of the nut on the high pressure port. You can't connect it directly to a ScubaPro 1st stage because the nut is larger than the cutouts around the HP ports. It works fine with Sherwood 1st's, but you need a Posiden (sp?) elbow to connect it to a ScubaPro reg. The elbow is only 9 bucks, but adds another O ring. S.
