Marguerite - what is a "real" cave diver? And, why do they need "publicity"? Please tell us. By the way, we (WKPP) just won an award from the National Wildlife Federation for "Water Conservationsist of the Year". We got publicity for that. We have an organization that has 80 people, includes the cooperatation of three universities and several Government Agencies, is about to be an Official Project of the U.S. E.P.A., is an Official Prject of the NSS, has members on several volunteer comittees to preserve and protect the resources that strokes like youy dive in, has opened up sites previously off limits, has gotten legislation passed to protect these resources and allow diving without legal recourse, has won an award from the Governor of Florida, has explored the longests underwater cave in the U.S. with new techniques for untethered commercial diving that are now part of the UHMS guidelines for such activities, has developed equipment to do these dives, techniques to do them, and has shareda ll of htis with the community along with maps of the caves and recommended diving procedures, and has trained more peeople than any othre organization, while setting all of the cve diving records for distance and distance at depth, while simulataneously developing a set of safetyy standards that hav ebeen adopted by the trainin g agencies. In other words , Margarite , you are one more misinformed know-nothing with a big mouth, who is trying to lionize the biggest strokes in this sport. Good luck. Once again, we see the dividing line in this community - ignorance on one side, reality on the other. George M.
